The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves misses with a hook.
Alves takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
A nice leg kick lands there from Mann.
Davi Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alves takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Alves throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mann bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Alves looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mann fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Alves has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Mann lands with a thumping leg kick.
Alves ducks right into an uppercut from Mann.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Mann! Alves is out on his feet! Mann rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Alves is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Alves is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Simon Mann!
