Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gektor Lombard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Benny Danare!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lombard connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Danare shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Lombard is controlling Danare's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Lombard avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Danare.
Lombard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lombard tries to roll over but Danare keeps him under control.
Danare wants to free his trapped foot but Lombard is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Danare looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lombard with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Danare slips a nice elbow through Lombard's hands, connecting with Lombard's forehead.
Lombard wants to control but Danare is keeping busy.

Danare must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Danare paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Lombard - great work!
