Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jessie Villegas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitri Mikhailovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villegas moves out of range of the body kick.
Mikhailovich throws a hook to the side of Villegas's head but Villegas sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mikhailovich missing with a left hand there. Villegas was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Crunch! Mikhailovich slams his shin into Villegas's torso.
Villegas throws a lazy right hand but Mikhailovich sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Villegas swings widly with a right hand
and Mikhailovich counters with a stiff right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A cross from Mikhailovich lands.
Villegas lands with an overhand left.
Mikhailovich throws a hook but Villegas blocks it.
Villegas has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Mikhailovich finds it's way round the side to connect with Villegas's head.
It looks like Jessie Villegas has been cut.

and Villegas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

A jab lands there for Mikhailovich.

Mikhailovich fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Villegas manages to avoid it.

and Villegas counters with an outside leg kick.
Mikhailovich throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Villegas sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Villegas misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mikhailovich.
Villegas is looking to chop away at Mikhailovich's legs.
Villegas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Villegas is looking to score with low kicks.
Mikhailovich misses with a jab to the body
letting Villegas counter with a right hand.
Mikhailovich looks to land a left hand but Villegas moved out of range nicely.

Villegas shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mikhailovich is trying to defend but Villegas finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Villegas wants to work for an arm triangle but Mikhailovich is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Villegas is looking to stall here but Mikhailovich recovers full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Villegas wants to control from the top but Mikhailovich keeps moving.
Mikhailovich has control of Villegas's left arm, preventing Villegas from doing any damage.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mikhailovich utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Mikhailovich is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jessie Villegas.
Villegas fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Villegas uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mikhailovich has time to react.
Mikhailovich lands a left and a right that send Villegas crashing to the mat, dazed. Mikhailovich thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Villegas is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Villegas blocks a jab.
Oh Villegas is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mikhailovich misses with a hook.
Villegas keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Mikhailovich.
Mikhailovich throws a jab when Villegas was well out of range.
Mikhailovich misses with a looping left.
Villegas ducks under a wild hook from Mikhailovich.
The fighters circling - Mikhailovich throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Mikhailovich misses with an uppercut.
Dmitri Mikhailovich is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mikhailovich goes for a small jab and connects. Now Mikhailovich goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Villegas stumbles back but Mikhailovich runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Villegas to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Villegas will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Dmitri Mikhailovich!
