Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Harry Fire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Sullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andrew Sullivan!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fire misses with a body kick.

and Fire counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sullivan's guard now.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Sullivan misses with a wild combination.
Fire shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sullivan as he jumps to the side.

Sullivan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Fire lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sullivan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sullivan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Fire tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Fire moves into the clinch successfully.
Fire gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sullivan.
Sullivan goes for a takedown attempt but Fire pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Fire has a takedown stuffed.
Fire fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Harry Fire. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fire misses with a wild combination.
Sullivan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fire lands a jab to Sullivan's midsection.

Fire tries to clinch there but Sullivan circles away.

Sullivan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fire circles away quickly and effectively.

so Fire counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fire stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sullivan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sullivan wants to stand up but Fire is controlling him.

Fire gets to his feet - Sullivan follows without any prompting.
Fire showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sullivan.

Sullivan gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Harry Fire overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fire passes Sullivan's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Fire prevents Sullivan from standing back up.
Fire is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Fire takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Fire wants to pass to mount but Sullivan is defending the position.
Sullivan looks like he's trying to stand up.
Fire controlling the action here.
Fire throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sullivan wants to get back to his feet.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Fire with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Sullivan pushes Fire off looking to stand but Fire dives back in and keeps control.

Fire working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Sullivan wants to get up but he can't break Fire's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sullivan misses with a double jab.

Fire clinches.

Sullivan goes for a takedown attempt but Fire pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Sullivan successfully pulls guard.
Andrew Sullivan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Sullivan lunges at Fire with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Fire's hand.
Sullivan is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Fire.

Fire decides to stand back up. Fire steps back and let's Sullivan get back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sullivan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sullivan pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Fire back to the cage. Sullivan follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Fire darts in and clinches Sullivan up against the cage.

Sullivan working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Fire's head.

Fire tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Sullivan gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Sullivan is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Fire fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sullivan throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Fire fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sullivan, pushing him back against the cage.
Sullivan tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Fire just stands there and leans against the cage.

Fire pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
No joy there for Sullivan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sullivan misses with the combination.
Harry Fire is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Sullivan avoids the head kick by Fire.

And that's the end of the fight!
Harry Fire showed his dominance in that final round.
