The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Novikov waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gaston.
Novikov throws a body punch but Gaston moves out of range.
Gaston feints and then cracks Novikov's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Novikov down.
Gaston throws a head kick that half lands.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gaston pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gaston lands a leg kick that knocks Novikov off balance momentarily.
Novikov avoids a punch combination nicely.
Novikov walks into a jab.
No joy there for Gaston, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Gaston shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

It looks like Gaston is going to stand back up.
Gaston is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Novikov is just riding it out for now. Gaston eventually gives up the hold.
Novikov tries to roll over but Gaston keeps him under control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Gaston perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Gaston is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Gaston escapes and gets back to his feet.

Gaston throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Novikov's head.
Gaston pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Gaston lands a nice looking kick to the body. Novikov takes a step back to recover.

Gaston changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Novikov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Novikov is not content to let Gaston control the position.
Gaston lands an elbow.
Gaston decides to stand back up. Gaston steps back and let's Novikov get back to his feet.
Novikov misses with a looping left.
Novikov avoids the head kick by Gaston.
Gaston has managed to clinch.

Novikov is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Gaston is defending well for now.
Novikov tries to throw a body punch but Gaston avoids it by throwing Novikov back against the cage.
Gaston tries to break free but Novikov pushes him back against the cage.

Gaston tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Novikov's elbow.
Novikov creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gaston escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gaston lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Novikov takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Gaston lands a big head kick that sends Novikov tumbling to the mat! Gaston takes a step backwards and waves Novikov back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Oh Novikov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Novikov blocks a head kick by Gaston.
Novikov seems to have got his legs back now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gaston seems to be stalking Novikov here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Novikov drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
