The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slick closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Saunier stuck in half guard on the bottom here.
Saunier regains half guard.
Saunier is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Saunier is pressing down on Slick's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Saunier pushes Slick off and scrambles back to his feet.
Saunier doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Slick counters with a stiff right hand.
Saunier closes the distance and clinches up with Slick, looking for a takedown. Saunier pushes Slick against the cage but Slick circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Slick closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Slick lands in his opponent's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Saunier is looking for a triangle but Slick pushes his legs off easily.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Saunier holds on and takes a little breather.

Slick is posturing up here but Saunier has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Slick tries to roll out but it's too tight and Slick has to tap! Slick submission there by Saunier!
