Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peppin Larter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Great Dane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larter comes to the cage accompanied by Analiese. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Larter throws a leg kick which misses Dane's front leg but catches the back leg as Dane tries to avoid it.
Larter wants to clinch up but Dane keeps it at a distance.
Dane takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Dane scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Larter tests Dane's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Larter slips a jab from Dane.
Larter throws a lazy right hand but Dane sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Dane swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Larter fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dane avoids it really well and circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dane tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Larter was well out of range. Poor timing from Dane.
Larter rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Dane counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Larter shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dane defends it nicely.
Larter is breathing heavily.
Larter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dane pinned against the cage. Dane gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peppin Larter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Larter just misses with a punch to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dane lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Peppin Larter will probably get the nod.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Larter is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Dane doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Larter crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Larter's bad books for that mishap!
