Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Slick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jojo Cunnings!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cunnings tries for a takedown but Slick circles away easily
letting Slick counter with a right hand.
Slick misses the body punch

and Cunnings decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Slick's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Slick is on top in guard.

Slick wants to pass the guard but Cunnings is keeping the position.

Slick has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Cunnings changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Slick looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slick tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Cunnings swings around for an armbar but Slick sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Cunnings's guard.

Cunnings looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Slick passes into side control.

Cunnings is looking for a sweep.
Cunnings trying to remain calm as Slick controls from the top position.

Slick tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Slick is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Cunnings's shoulder. That is not cool.
Cunnings on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Slick is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Slick lands a decent elbow from side control.

Slick in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Cunnings is trying to get back to half guard.
Slick is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Cunnings will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Cunnings is looking to reverse the position.
Rick Slick overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee asks Slick politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Slick prefers to stall for the moment though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slick is chipping away with strikes.

Cunnings is looking for a sweep.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Slick lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


A jab from Slick finds it's way through Cunnings's defenses.

and Slick counters with a shoot takedown. Cunnings fights it but they end up in guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rick Slick.

Slick closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cunnings to the mat! Cunnings manages to get full guard.

Slick got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cunnings has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Slick has managed to get both his arms back between Cunnings's legs - danger averted.
Cunnings wants to get back to his feet but Slick is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Slick not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Rick Slick is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Slick works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Cunnings wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Slick sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Slick is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cunnings can do to turn this around?

Slick seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cunnings for as long as he can get away with.
