Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gary Payton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Stachera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam Stachera will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gary Payton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Stachera!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payton swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Payton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stachera's waist but Stachera gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Payton off to one side.
Payton pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Stachera gets a clinch.

Stachera gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Payton is pressing down on Stachera's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Payton is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Stachera is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Stachera must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Payton is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Payton is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stachera is controlling him.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Stachera counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Stachera.
Stachera is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Stachera throws a big right hand that misses.
Payton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Stachera seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Stachera really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Payton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Gary Payton.

Stachera changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Payton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Payton is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Stachera is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We're going to have a standup here because Gary Payton wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Payton shoots in and drives through. Stachera sprawls well.

Adam Stachera dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Payton is defended easily by Stachera.
Payton tries to clinch but Stachera moves out of range.

Stachera shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Payton's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Payton is on top in guard.
Payton trying to control the position from guard on top but Stachera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stachera can do anything to dispel that myth.
Payton wanted to stand there but Stachera had control of the position.

Payton is pushing down on Stachera's leg trying to pass to half guard. Stachera is fighting to maintain full guard but Payton has managed to sneak the leg through.
Payton not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Stachera tries to kick Payton off but Payton keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Adam Stachera has got the better of the ground game so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Payton is keen to just control but Stachera is a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Payton shoots in looking for a takedown. Stachera tries to sprawl out of it but Payton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Stachera manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Stachera decides to stand up, so the ref orders Payton to his feet.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Stachera stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stachera wants it to stay on the feet.

Stachera feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Payton is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Stachera frees his head nicely. Oh but Payton has switched to an armbar! Stachera is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
