Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Jarlievski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Channell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jarlievski comes to the cage accompanied by Back in Black - ACDC. Channell has chosen Wizard as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vladimir Jarlievski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ian Channell! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jarlievski looks for a takedown but Channell sprawls well. Jarlievski tries to clinch and Channell counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Vladimir Jarlievski has been cut. Channell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Channell stopping the sweep attempt from Jarlievski. Channell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Channell trying to control the position from guard on top but Jarlievski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jarlievski keeping full guard, as Channell tries to pass. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Channell controls from within his opponent's guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ian Channell was stalling too much, according to the referee. Jarlievski shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Channell sprawls well. Channell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jarlievski gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Channell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Channell wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimir Jarlievski. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jarlievski shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Channell tries to get to full guard but Jarlievski has control of the leg. Channell has a hand on Jarlievski's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Jarlievski takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Jarlievski avoids the attempt from Channell to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jarlievski looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Jarlievski goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Channell turns into him and now he's in Jarlievski's guard.
Jarlievski tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Channell not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Jarlievski is pulling down on Channell's head to control his posture. Channell looking to sit in guard and control but Jarlievski gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Channell tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jarlievski is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Jarlievski with a flurry of punches that miss. Channell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jarlievski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Channell manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jarlievski manages to get himself to full guard.
Channell is looking to stand up but Jarlievski won't let him. Jarlievski is controlling Channell's posture. Channell is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jarlievski closes the distance and clinches up with Channell, looking for a takedown. Jarlievski pushes Channell against the cage but Channell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Jarlievski is looking to clinch but Channell is avoiding it.
Channell closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Jarlievski throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Channell has Jarlievski up against the cage in a clinch.
Channell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jarlievski looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jarlievski is breathing heavily. Channell is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ian Channell dominated that round. The cut man is working on Vladimir Jarlievski's cut. That's time! Jarlievski's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Channell looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Jarlievski works his way to full guard. Good work. Channell slips nicely into half guard. Channell missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Channell seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jarlievski does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Jarlievski trying to hold on to Channell's head to control him but Channell postures up.
Jarlievski manages to get to full guard.
Channell pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jarlievski is keeping the position for now. Jarlievski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Channell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Jarlievski is tightening it up a little... Channell has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Channell reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Channell taps out! Nice BJJ there by Jarlievski!
