Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lamb Chops (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sami Kolari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lamb Chops!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Sami Kolari!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Kolari. No joy for Chops on that attempt.
Kolari throws a quick inside leg kick.
Chops has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kolari.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Chops really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Chops is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kolari doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Chops.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Chops is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kolari to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kolari shrugs it off.

Kolari tests Chops's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Kolari tries to work over Chops's front leg with a kick but Chops checks it.
Kolari throws a hook but Chops avoids it easily.
Chops shoots in looking for a takedown but Kolari manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chops's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kolari ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chops moves away.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Chops shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kolari pinned against the cage. Kolari gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Chops looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kolari is fending him off so far but Chops persists. Nope, Kolari circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lamb Chops. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kolari avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Kolari shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Chops manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Chops looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Kolari passes into side control.

Chops has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lamb Chops will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Chops shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kolari sprawls well. Kolari wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Chops gets slowly back to his feet.

Kolari stuffs the takedown attempt from Chops. Chops gets slowly back to his feet.

Chops shoots in looking for a takedown. Kolari tries to sprawl out of it but Chops keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kolari manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Sami Kolari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A solid leg kick lands there for Kolari.

Chops shoots in for a takedown but Kolari shows good takedown defense.
Kolari pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Chops changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kolari tries to avoid it but Chops manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kolari to the ground. Kolari escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Chops fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kolari avoids it really well and circles away.

Lamb Chops is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Some bone on bone action there as Chops checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Kolari shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Chops napping and manages to drive through into side control!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chops working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kolari doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kolari manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
