Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fenix Espada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitry Petrenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fenix Espada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dmitry Petrenko!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Espada swings for the body but Petrenko moves out of range.
Espada misses with a body shot.
Espada misses with a looping left.
Petrenko misses with a body shot.
Petrenko avoids the body shot from Espada.
Espada scores with a crisp jab that stopped Petrenko in his tracks.
Petrenko displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Espada.
A nice leg kick lands there from Petrenko.

Espada ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Petrenko moves away.
Petrenko throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Espada stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Fenix Espada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Petrenko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Espada.

Petrenko swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Petrenko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Petrenko avoids the body shot from Espada.

Espada fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Petrenko, pushing him back against the cage.

Petrenko is trying to break the clinch but Espada is controlling him.
Espada keeps control of Petrenko as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Espada goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Petrenko tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Petrenko breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dmitry Petrenko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Espada is looking to wear down Petrenko with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Espada misses with a takedown attempt - Petrenko sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Petrenko stuffs the takedown attempt from Espada. Espada gets slowly back to his feet.
Espada looks to land a right hand but Petrenko moved out of range.
Petrenko lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Espada closes the distance and clinches up with Petrenko, looking for a takedown. Espada pushes Petrenko against the cage but Petrenko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Espada throws a lazy right hand but Petrenko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Espada looks to score with a jab to the body but Petrenko is just out of range.
Petrenko tries to clinch there but Espada circles away.
Espada scores with the left hand. Petrenko knows he should have avoided that one.
Petrenko pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Espada throws a shot from downtown. Petrenko moves away and avoids it.
Petrenko loads up on a big right hand but Espada slips the punch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Petrenko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Espada shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Petrenko as he avoids it easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dmitry Petrenko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Espada has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In his post fight interview, Fenix Espada started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
