Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between john gay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and ross peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). peters is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by one step closer . ross peters is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, john gay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, ross peters!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
peters fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. gay sprawls well initially but peters persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
gay blocking the ground and pound attempt from peters.
gay punching from the bottom.
peters throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
gay is trying to control but can't.
gay really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
gay is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
peters should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
peters throwing shots but gay is blocking nicely.
gay tries to get to full guard but peters has control of the leg.
gay has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
gay moves into range and clinches up with peters.
gay ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. gay no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
gay kicks peters off and gets to his feet.
gay closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming peters to the mat! peters manages to get full guard.
peters looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
peters throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
gay in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
gay gets to his feet. peters looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
gay shoots for a double leg takedown but peters sprawls well. He's pushed gay's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
peters gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and gay counters by moving into the clinch.
peters gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
gay wants to stand and escape but peters is having none of it.
gay is breathing heavily.
gay is controlling peters's posture.
gay preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
gay pushes peters off and scrambles back to his feet.
gay tries to clinch up.
gay has taken the fight to the clinch.
gay breaks the clinch.
gay shoots in but peters avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A combination from peters does no damage.
peters with a poor takedown
and gay counters with a nice leg kick.
gay closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
gay lands a hook that snaps the head of peters backwards.
It looks like ross peters has been cut.
peters has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. gay avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
john gay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of ross peters.
gay gets underhooks to prevent peters's takedown attempt.
gay has hold of one of peters's legs. peters is fighting the takedown attempt but gay gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
gay stands up and waves to peters to follow him.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
gay closes this distance looking for a takedown but peters circles away.
peters shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and gay counters by moving into the clinch.
peters lands a damaging elbow.
gay decides to pull guard.
peters wants to control from the top but gay keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
gay had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. peters is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. gay Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take peters's back instead.
gay is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
peters tries to escape but gay has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
gay is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. peters defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
peters trying to control the hands but gay won't let him.
peters is trying to break free.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
gay has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, peters has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
peters tries to escape but gay has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
peters manages to reverse the position and now he's in gay's guard. Nice work there by peters.
gay has momentary wrist control but peters slips an elbow through the middle.
peters trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
gay looking to hit a scissor sweep but peters is one step ahead there.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
gay has taken the fight to the clinch.
gay escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
peters misses with a takedown attempt
and gay counters with a head kick. That will keep peters thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
gay throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by peters.
gay lands a brutal head kick. peters looks out on his feet and gay throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). john gay!
