Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Houston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tj Bell! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Houston shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bell napping and manages to drive through into side control! Bell can't do much from the bottom here. Houston thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Bell can't do much from the bottom here. Bell parries the strikes from Houston easily there. Houston is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Bell to escape.
Houston is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bell is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Houston thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Bell is looking to reverse the position. Houston tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Houston is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Bell is trying to escape and Houston transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Bell is forced to tap! Nice work there by Houston! Very nice indeed!
