Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Umma Gumma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flavio Panday (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gumma comes into the arena with One 24 blaring out of the sound system. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Umma Gumma! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Flavio Panday! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Steve Montenegro and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gumma shoots in and drives through. Panday sprawls well. Panday throws a right and a left that both miss. Gumma on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Panday. Panday obviously looking to wear him down.
Panday misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gumma slips under a jab from Panday. Gumma will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Panday tried to score with a low kick but Gumma checks it. Horrible takedown by Gumma or perhaps it was just good defense by Panday which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Umma Gumma. That's going to take a lot out of him. Panday throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gumma. Gumma throws a hook but Panday blocks it. Panday ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gumma moves away. Panday fails to land with a series of punches.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gumma chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Panday can pounce on him.
Panday fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gumma looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Flavio Panday seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Panday is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gumma. Gumma shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Panday lands with a good body shot. Panday throws a predictable looking body shot
and Gumma counters with a shoot takedown. Panday fights it but they end up in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gumma trying to control the position from guard on top but Panday is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gumma throwing strikes from guard but Panday blocks nicely. Panday wants to stand but Gumma is controlling the position. Gumma has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Panday wants to sweep here but Gumma controlling him for the moment. Gumma throwing strikes from guard but Panday blocks nicely. Gumma trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gumma distracts Panday with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Panday working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gumma. Gumma's corner is telling him to maintain position. Panday wants to stand and escape but Gumma is having none of it. Gumma trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gumma with a nice head shot there. Gumma sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Panday's guard. Gumma lands with a punch from half guard. Gumma working over Panday with some ground and pound. Panday looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Gumma is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Panday is trying to stand back up but Gumma is controlling him
Gumma seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Panday can do anything to dispel that myth. Gumma looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Panday with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gumma seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gumma takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Gumma missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Panday wants to get back to full guard. Ground and pound from Gumma. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Panday is trying to get back to full guard. Gumma throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. And thats the end of the round the fighters go back to their corners.

Panday lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gumma circles away quickly and effectively. Gumma fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Panday will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Gumma throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Panday's waist but Panday gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gumma off to one side. Flavio Panday is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Panday misses with a double jab
letting Gumma counter with a right hand. Gumma fails with a takedown attempt. Gumma shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. A nice elbow there by Gumma. Gumma with good strikes from the mount here! Gumma connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Panday tries to buck Gumma off but he can't manage it. Gumma landing shots from mount. Gumma content just to control the position here. Panday wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Gumma.
Umma Gumma overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gumma scoring with strikes but Panday is staying in there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gumma goes for an armbar but Panday turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Panday. Gumma bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Panday's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gumma postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Gumma scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gumma's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Gumma seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Gumma trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Gumma trying to control but Panday is working from the bottom. Gumma postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gumma with a flurry of punches that miss. Gumma works over Panday with some ground and pound from guard. Gumma controls from within his opponent's guard. Panday keeping moving, preventing Gumma from controlling successfully. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Umma Gumma has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Gumma checks a leg kick. Panday lands a jab to Gumma's midsection. Panday throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Gumma blocks a jab. A solid body kick from Gumma. Panday just misses with a punch to the body.

Gumma working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Panday's head. Gumma is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Panday can do to turn this around? Flavio Panday has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Panday takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Gumma is trying to get an arm triangle but Panday is defending well. Gumma lands some shots froms side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gumma working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Gumma raining down shots from the mount! Umma Gumma is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Gumma controlling his opponent. Gumma seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Panday for as long as he can get away with.

And that's the end of the fight! Umma Gumma showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gumma, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
