Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Boon Baggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Haston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baggins comes to the cage accompanied by The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins (my hero). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Boon Baggins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lance Haston!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baggins dodges the punch combination from Haston.
Baggins fails with a takedown attempt.
Haston scores with a nice strike.
Lance Haston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Haston misses with a series of wild punches.
A punch combination from Haston misses.
Baggins jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Haston thows a body shot but no joy.
Haston cracks Baggins with an open hand slap.
Haston fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Baggins will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Haston lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Baggins circles away quickly and effectively.
Baggins shoots for a takedown but Haston saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Boon Baggins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Haston throws a series of punches but Baggins moves out of range.
Baggins avoids the body shot from Haston.
Haston lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Baggins circles away quickly and effectively.
Haston connects with a jab.
A combination from Haston does no damage.
Haston throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sloppy strikes from Haston. Those never looked like landing.
Haston looks gassed!
Haston fails to land with a series of punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Baggins showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Haston.

Baggins feints and as Haston raises his hands in defense, Baggins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Baggins thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Haston can't keep his opponent in guard - Baggins advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Baggins has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Haston defend it? Baggins steps over the head and cranks it - Haston is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Baggins!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Boon Baggins!
