Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Laurel Lishaq (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramon Labayen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramon Labayen is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Laurel Lishaq!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ramon Labayen!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lishaq will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Labayen rushes Lishaq and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Lishaq looking to stall.
Labayen takes a shot to the head.
Lishaq lands a right hand.

A quick uppercut on the inside from Lishaq.
Labayen struggles to land a body shot inside as Lishaq controls his hands.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Lishaq is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Labayen is just riding it out for now. Lishaq eventually gives up the hold.

Lishaq stands and throws Labayen's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Lishaq tries to advance to mount but Labayen instead regains half guard.

Lishaq got a little sloppy there for a moment and Labayen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lishaq has managed to get both his arms back between Labayen's legs - danger averted.
Lishaq might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Labayen closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lishaq's guard.

Labayen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lishaq moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Labayen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Lishaq checks a leg kick.

Labayen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lishaq was well out of range. Poor timing from Labayen.

Lishaq sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Labayen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lishaq manages to avoid it.

Labayen throws out a loose jab but Lishaq uses good head movement to avoid it.

Labayen shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Lishaq eats them both and turns towards Labayen to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Labayen lands with a nice combination. Lishaq backs away looking to recover.
Lishaq tries to close the distance and clinch but Labayen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Labayen delivers a nice body kick.
Labayen looks to land a combination but Lishaq avoids it well.
Labayen throws a body punch but Lishaq moves out of range.
Labayen swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Labayen gets a double leg takedown into Lishaq's guard.
Labayen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
