Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michael Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Lighty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Kent! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Lighty! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lighty throws a series of strikes that have Kent backpedaling.
Lighty lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kent circles away quickly and effectively. Kent misses with a left hand and Lighty counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kent! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Kent tries to hold on but Lighty postures up. Kent is trying to escape the mount.
Lighty takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Kent is looking to improve his position but Lighty isn't that keen on the idea. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lighty avoids the attempt from Kent to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kent really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Lighty is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Lighty closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lighty lands in his opponent's guard. Kent looking for a sweep. Not yet Kent, not yet. Kent is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kent is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lighty sees it coming and defends easily. Kent missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Kent wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lighty keeps working. Kent is thwarting Lighty's attempts to control the position. Kent seems to be working for a kimura but Lighty defends the submission attempt. Lighty is refusing to be controlled, as Kent sits in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kent trying to control from Lighty's half guard. Lighty has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Kent trying to control but Lighty is working from the bottom. Lighty not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kent stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lighty swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kent trying to control but Lighty is working from the bottom. Kent tries to free his leg and advance position but Lighty is retaining full guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Kent missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Lighty keeping full guard, as Kent tries to pass. Kent wants to control from the top but Lighty keeps moving. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but David Lighty will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kent rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Lighty counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Lighty fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kent sprawls well initially but Lighty persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Lighty stands up and beckons Kent to join him on the feet. Lighty moves away from the strike by Kent. Michael Kent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kent avoids a punch combination nicely.
A head kick misses from Lighty. Kent takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Kent throws the kick towards the body but Lighty avoids it. Lighty Rushes Kent and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Kent is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Lighty Piles on the pressure and Kent crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Lighty! David Lighty decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
