Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Padraig McNamara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leandro Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves has chosen Damian Marley - Welcome To Jamrock as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Padraig McNamara! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Leandro Alves! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A swing and a miss from Alves. Alves wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Nice straight punches there by McNamara. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of McNamara. McNamara scores with a takedown into Alves's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Alves is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. McNamara is looking to work some ground and pound but Alves has wrist control. McNamara trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. McNamara working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Alves lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McNamara! Alves avoids the attempt from McNamara to control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Alves takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves is working for a guillotine from mount but McNamara frees his head quite easily.
McNamara is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. McNamara keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
McNamara tries to hold on but Alves postures up. Alves content just to control the position here. Alves sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Alves controlling from mount. Alves avoids the attempt from McNamara to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but McNamara is holding on tight.
Alves wants to control the pace but McNamara is squirming around nicely. Alves has control of McNamara's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and McNamara regains control of the situation pretty easily.
McNamara might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Alves tries to control but McNamara wriggling away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McNamara is trying to escape the mount.
Alves pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
McNamara just holding on.

McNamara manages to reverse the position and now he's in Alves's guard. Nice work there by McNamara.
McNamara trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Alves looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McNamara accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. McNamara postures up in Alves's guard and throws a big left but Alves blocks it. Alves has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. McNamara doesn't defend quickly enough and Alves has managed to lock this one up! Can McNamara escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Alves on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Leandro Alves! Leandro Alves tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
