Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Slacks Houligan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nikolai Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nikolai Volkov!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Houligan throws a half hearted mid kick.
Houligan staying out of range there.
Volkov scores with a punch to the head.
Volkov scores with a jab.
Houligan throws a head kick but Volkov moves out of range.
Houligan misses with a head kick.
Houligan throws a leg kick
and Volkov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Houligan is looking to score with low kicks.
Volkov clobbers Houligan with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Slacks Houligan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Volkov pivots, looking for a leg kick but Houligan is out of range and Volkov settles back down.
Volkov digs a good hook to Houligan's body.
Volkov moves out of range of the body kick from Houligan.
Houligan fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Volkov is out of range.
Houligan misses with a low kick.
Volkov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Volkov takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Houligan checks a leg kick.

Volkov bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Slacks Houligan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Good work by Volkov as he checks the leg kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Houligan, right into the meat.
Houligan drops his hands momentarily and Volkov takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Houligan takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Volkov lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Houligan throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Volkov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Houligan throws a solid leg kick but Volkov takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Houligan.

Volkov has taken the fight to the clinch.
Houligan wants to break free but Volkov has control.
Houligan has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Volkov manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Volkov looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Volkov tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Volkov is trying to keep Houligan in close.
Volkov wants to sweep here but Houligan controlling him for the moment.
Houligan wanted to stand there but Volkov had control of the position.

Volkov has his foot on Houligan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Houligan works his way back into a safe position though.
Houligan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Houligan is looking to stand up but Volkov won't let him.
Volkov tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Houligan wants to stand and escape but instead Volkov has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Volkov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Houligan wants to stand up but Volkov is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Houligan is breathing heavily.

Volkov works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Volkov lands a decent elbow from side control.
Volkov grinds an elbow into Houligan's temple.

Let's hope that Volkov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Volkov connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Houligan some visible discomfort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nikolai Volkov dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Volkov scores with a nice right hand.
Volkov throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Houligan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Volkov lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Houligan at a distance.
Houligan lands with a slapping head kick.
Volkov lands a head shot.
Houligan throws a head kick but Volkov moves out of range.
Houligan takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Nikolai Volkov seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Volkov punishes Houligan's body with a nice straight punch.
Volkov getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Volkov throws a front kick that sends Houligan stumbling back into the cage.
Volkov connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Volkov scores with a nice strike.
Volkov's jab looks to have found its range, popping Houligan under the eye.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Volkov paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Houligan is rocked!
Volkov drops Houligan with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Houligan! Volkov dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
