Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ace Portgas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshi Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yoshi Machida is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Portgas fails with a takedown attempt.
Portgas shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Machida but Machida pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The fight stays on the outside here - Machida looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Portgas postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Machida is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Portgas, into his guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Portgas is on top in guard.

You get the feeling that Machida really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Portgas goes for an armbar but Machida turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Machida.
Machida decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Portgas, up you get!
Portgas shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Machida pinned against the cage. Machida gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Machida keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Yoshi Machida has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Portgas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Machida is fending him off so far but Portgas persists. Nope, Machida circles away and we're back to standing.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ace Portgas.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Portgas, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
