Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Rivers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dan Henderson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henderson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rivers to score with a decent uppercut.
Sloppy strikes from Rivers. Those never looked like landing.
Henderson misses with a body kick.
Henderson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Henderson slips a jab and a cross from Rivers.
Rivers lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Henderson backs up against the cage.
Henderson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rivers defends it nicely.
Henderson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rivers avoids it really well and circles away.
Eddie Rivers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Henderson.

Henderson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rivers lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Henderson backs up against the cage.
Rivers leaves Henderson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Rivers throws a series of punches but Henderson moves out of range.

Henderson rushes Rivers and presses him up against the cage.

Henderson breaks the clinch.
Rivers lands a glancing blow to the side of Henderson's head.
Rivers scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Henderson avoids a punch combination nicely.

Rivers forces Henderson back against the cage and clinches.
Henderson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Rivers is defending well for now.
Rivers is trying to force a seperation but Henderson has the dominant position.
Henderson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rivers avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Henderson successfully pulls guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Henderson is pulling down on Rivers's head. It's preventing any offense from Rivers, at least for the moment.
Let's hope that Henderson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Rivers is looking to work some ground and pound but Henderson has wrist control.
Rivers wants to control from the top but Henderson keeps moving.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dan Henderson wasn't active enough on the ground.
Henderson tries to clinch but Rivers moves out of range.
Henderson doesn't manage to clinch there - Rivers circles away.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rivers throws a right and a left that both miss.

Henderson throws a sloppy head kick and Rivers moves out of range easily.

Henderson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rivers napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Rivers tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Rivers trying his best to control but Henderson has mounted him.
Henderson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Rivers is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Rivers is breathing heavily.
Rivers is squirming around, avoiding Henderson's attempts to control the action.

Henderson wants to finish this one by submission but Rivers is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Henderson.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Henderson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Henderson controlling the position easily from mount.
Henderson with shots to the head and body - Rivers looks very uncomfortable down there.
Henderson scoring with strikes but Rivers is staying in there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rivers is looking to improve his position but Henderson isn't that keen on the idea.
Henderson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


The fight stays on the outside here - Henderson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Henderson throws a head kick but Rivers moves out of range.
Rivers fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Henderson throws a series of punches but Rivers moves out of range.
Rivers tries to clinch up but Henderson circles away and keeps his distance.

Rivers is trying to push Henderson away but Henderson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Henderson has Rivers pressed against the cage, preventing Rivers from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Henderson wants the takedown. Rivers is fighting it off but Henderson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Rivers's guard against the cage.

Rivers is working an open guard so Henderson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Henderson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rivers swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Henderson gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Sloppy strikes from Rivers. Those never looked like landing.
Rivers throws a series of punches but Henderson avoids them all with ease.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Henderson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Rivers is staying active underneath Henderson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Henderson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Rivers reaches up to try and control the position but Henderson seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Rivers rolls and tries to escape and now Henderson has his back!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
