The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goncalves goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Goncalves swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hardass tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Goncalves swivels and escapes.
Hardass misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Goncalves attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Goncalves throws a nice looking combination but Hardass bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
An inside leg kick lands from Goncalves.
Goncalves uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hardass.

Hardass throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Goncalves's waist but Goncalves gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hardass off to one side.

Hardass shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Goncalves as he jumps to the side.

Goncalves is trying to break the clinch but Hardass is controlling him.

Hardass drags the fight down to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hardass lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Goncalves!
Hardass wants to control the pace but Goncalves is squirming around nicely.
Hardass takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Goncalves is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hardass sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Hardass is working for a guillotine from mount but Goncalves frees his head quite easily.
Hardass thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Hardass goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Goncalves turns into him and now he's in Hardass's guard.

Hardass manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Alex Hardass comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
