Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ogami Itto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Kawajiri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ogami Itto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Renato Kawajiri!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawajiri ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Itto scores with the left hand. Kawajiri knows he should have avoided that one.
Itto tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kawajiri is able to avoid easily.
Itto works the jab nicely.
Kawajiri is trying hard to land a takedown here. Itto sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Itto throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Kawajiri misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Itto throws a body punch but Kawajiri moves out of range.
Itto misses with a looping left.
Kawajiri shoots in for a double leg but Itto sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ogami Itto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Renato Kawajiri.
Kawajiri tries to score a power double leg takedown but Itto sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kawajiri somewhat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kawajiri walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kawajiri.
Nice body punch from Itto.
Kawajiri looks gassed!

Itto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Itto is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kawajiri to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kawajiri shrugs it off.

Itto working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Kawajiri tries to reverse the position but Itto maintains control.
Itto controlling the pace for now.

Itto jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kawajiri manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Itto slows the pace down.
Kawajiri is not content to let Itto control the position.
Kawajiri tries to improve position but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kawajiri is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Itto works his foot free and advances to mount.

Itto working for a submission but Kawajiri is keeping him at bay.
Itto controlling his opponent.
Itto wants to take Kawajiri's back here but Kawajiri is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kawajiri is working to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kawajiri regains half guard.
Kawajiri is not content to let Itto control the position.
Kawajiri is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Itto's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Itto's back!

Itto is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kawajiri gets his way!
Kawajiri is trying to stick to Itto's back but Itto is turning into Kawajiri. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Kawajiri's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Itto.

Kawajiri working for a triangle but Itto defends it easily.
Itto pushes down on Kawajiri's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Itto is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Itto with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Kawajiri looking for submissions off his back.

Itto is working for a submission of some sort.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Itto maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Kawajiri could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Itto has cracked it and Kawajiri is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Itto!
