Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ismael Gesta! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dwayne Jack! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jack shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gesta napping and manages to drive through into side control! Gesta has one of Jack's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage. Jack is putting a hurting on Gesta here, landing some big shots from side control. Gesta is looking for a sweep. Jack throws an elbow but Gesta slips to the side and avoids it well. Gesta knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jack on the ground. Jack misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Jack is working Gesta over with some ground and pound from side control. Jack is putting a hurting on Gesta here, landing some big shots from side control. Jack misses with the ground and pound. Jack is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gesta knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gesta defending against the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jack landing strikes. Jack looks up at the clock and then as Gesta takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jack smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Jack is trying to get an arm triangle but Gesta is defending well. Jack fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Jack working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Jack misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jack is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gesta is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Jack has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Jack creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Jack looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Gesta is avoiding damage well.
Gesta dodges the ground and pound from Jack. Jack is putting a hurting on Gesta here, landing some big shots from side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jack in side control, throwing shots but Gesta defends. Gesta taking punishment in the form of punches.
Jack postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gesta dodges the ground and pound from Jack. Jack throws a strike aimed at the side of Gesta's head but Gesta avoids it well. Jack throws an elbow but Gesta slips to the side and avoids it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jack creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Gesta sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Jack is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gesta has escaped the position, nice work there. Jack tries to score with some ground and pound. Gesta controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Gesta parries the strikes from Jack easily there. Jack is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Gesta to escape.

Gesta is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jack working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Oh Gesta is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Jack working the head and body with strikes. You can see the frustration on Gesta's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Jack landing a few strikes. Jack scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Gesta is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Jack can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
