PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Trouble (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timmy Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harris is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Feel So Numb by Rob Zombie. Timmy Harris will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Timmy Harris!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trouble fails to land with a series of punches.

Trouble drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Trouble is standing up over Harris. Harris looks to escape but Trouble dives into side control.
Trouble prevents Harris from escaping the position.
Harris tries to improve position but can't.

Trouble tries for a kimura but Harris is defending well.

Harris is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Trouble asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Trouble remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Big Trouble just wasn't active enough.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Big Trouble just wasn't active enough.

Trouble closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Harris to the mat! Harris manages to get full guard.
Trouble seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Harris is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Trouble is controlling him.
Harris utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Trouble might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Trouble pushes down on Harris's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Trouble passes into side control, despite Harris's attempt to control the position.
Harris is looking for a sweep.
Trouble cracks Harris with a big right hand but Harris just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Harris seems a little lost for a moment, as Trouble dominates the positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


The fighters circling - Trouble throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Harris just misses with a elbow thrown towards Trouble's brow.

Trouble has Harris pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Trouble pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Harris tumbling to the mat - Trouble dives into Harris's guard.
Trouble has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Harris wants to stand and escape but Trouble is having none of it.
Harris wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Trouble manages to pass to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Trouble is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Trouble's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Trouble throws a body punch but Harris moves out of range.
Harris lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Harris throws a series of punches but Trouble avoids them all with ease.
Harris lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Trouble backs up against the cage.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Big Trouble.
Trouble tries to clinch up.
Big Trouble is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Harris scores with a one two! Trouble had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Trouble comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Harris takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Trouble will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Harris dives in and grabs Trouble's left leg, looking for a takedown. Trouble pushes down on Harris's head and hops out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Trouble throws a looping overhand right but Harris ducks down to avoid it.
Harris avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Trouble shoots in and bounces Harris off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Trouble controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Big Trouble is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Harris is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Trouble dives into side control.

Trouble stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Harris keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A jab lands there for Trouble.


It looks like Timmy Harris has been cut.

Big Trouble has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Harris throws a hook to the side of Trouble's head but Trouble sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Harris lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Trouble circles away quickly and effectively.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Trouble looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Trouble seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

And that's the end of the fight!
Big Trouble showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Trouble has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
