Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Creyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Creyes comes to the cage accompanied by The Infection. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aldo tries a head kick but it misses.
Aldo fails with the takedown. Creyes rushes Aldo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Aldo has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Creyes is trying to keep an underhook but Aldo manages to get the takedown into half guard. Aldo gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Aldo has managed to clinch.
Aldo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Aldo wants the takedown. Creyes is fighting it off but Aldo persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Creyes's guard against the cage. Aldo stands up from guard. Let's bang! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Aldo. Creyes rushes Aldo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Aldo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Aldo stuffs the takedown attempt from Creyes. Creyes gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Creyes closes the distance and clinches. Creyes manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Creyes wants to stand and escape but Aldo is having none of it. Aldo wanted to stand there but Creyes had control of the position. Creyes is working an open guard so Aldo takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Creyes has his takedown stuffed and Aldo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Creyes's guard now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Creyes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Aldo is controlling him. Creyes is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Creyes is working an open guard so Aldo takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Aldo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Creyes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Aldo stands up and beckons Creyes to his feet. Aldo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Creyes manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Aldo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Creyes fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonathan Creyes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Aldo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Aldo decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. A momentary lapse in concentration from Creyes enables Aldo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Creyes manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Aldo decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Creyes, up you get!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Creyes dives in and grabs Aldo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Aldo pushes down on Creyes's head and hops out. Aldo looks to land a combination. Creyes sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Aldo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Aldo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Aldo throws a right and a left that Creyes avoids nicely. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Aldo stuffs the takedown attempt from Creyes. Creyes gets slowly back to his feet. Aldo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Creyes napping and manages to drive through into side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Aldo dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Creyes gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Aldo gets to his feet - Creyes follows without any prompting. Aldo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Aldo stands up out of the half guard. Jose Aldo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Creyes closes the distance and clinches. Creyes tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Aldo lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Creyes backwards. Aldo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aldo lands a nice uppercut. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Creyes misses with a knee strike.
Aldo works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Aldo gets to his feet. Creyes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Creyes moves into the clinch. Aldo is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Creyes pulls him back up using the underhooks. Aldo has a couple of punches blocked by Creyes.

The fighters land in half guard but Creyes regains guard immediately. Aldo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Creyes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Aldo tries to stand but Creyes is controlling from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aldo prevents Creyes from getting back to his feet. Aldo stands up from Creyes's guard - Aldo perhaps looking for a knockout. Creyes misses with a takedown and Aldo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Creyes's guard. Aldo stands up and waves to Creyes to follow him. Creyes moves into the clinch successfully.

This has been an exciting period of action! Creyes is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Aldo has just dragged him back down to the mat. Aldo stands up. Aldo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Creyes sprawls well initially but Aldo persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Aldo stands up out of the half guard.

He's pushed Creyes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jonathan Creyes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
