Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Flavio Sandoval (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Costa has chosen 26 Bass by Roni Size as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Flavio Sandoval! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carlos Costa! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Costa tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sandoval swats him away and circles back towards the center. Sandoval lands a body shot.
Costa avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Sandoval jabs at Costa's body. Sandoval throws a leg kick and Costa counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Sandoval keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sandoval avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Costa. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sandoval keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Costa is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sandoval has managed to free his arm - good work. Costa lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Sandoval moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sandoval tries to land a sweep but no joy. Sandoval is trying to keep Costa in close.
Costa throwing strikes but missing. Costa cracks Sandoval with a solid left hand. Sandoval is controlling Costa's posture. Costa postures up and lands a big shot to Sandoval's brow. Costa looking to pass the guard. Sandoval managing to control the position. Sandoval looking to hit a scissor sweep but Costa is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Costa postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Costa wants to control from the top but Sandoval keeps moving. Sandoval working a defensive guard here.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Costa throwing strikes but missing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Costa trying to control the position from guard on top but Sandoval is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Costa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sandoval defends it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. That kick from Sandoval tenderised Costa's leg. Costa is trying to keep his angry face on. Costa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sandoval looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Costa cracks Sandoval with an elbow. That is naaassty. Costa tries to advance position but instead Sandoval slips a leg back in to half guard. Sandoval is looking to improve his position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Costa connects with a nice short shot to Sandoval's temple.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Costa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sandoval's head. Sandoval makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sandoval. Costa passes Sandoval's right leg, so he's now in half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sandoval gets back to full guard.
Sandoval manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Costa manages to get himself to full guard.
Sandoval is pushing down on Costa's leg trying to pass to half guard. Costa is fighting to maintain full guard but Sandoval has managed to sneak the leg through. Costa gets full guard. Costa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sandoval doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sandoval manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Costa looks gassed! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sandoval is in close to Costa's body, working some short punches and elbows. Costa not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jab, jab by Sandoval - just one landing. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Sandoval lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Costa has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Costa and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Costa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sandoval defends it nicely. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Sandoval.
Sandoval works Costa's body with a nice hook. Costa looks to land a left hand but Sandoval moved out of range nicely. Sandoval lands with a nice body punch. Sandoval wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Costa is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Costa takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Sandoval takes a swing at Costa's ribcage but misses. Sandoval lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Sandoval cracks Costa with an open hand slap. Sandoval misses with a few strikes there.
A decent looking cross lands there for Sandoval. Sandoval is looking to wear down Costa with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sandoval connects with a body shot that sends Costa's belly button to the back. Sandoval lands a jab to the nose. Sandoval throws a nice outside leg kick. This has been an exciting period of action! Sandoval is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Costa tries for a takedown but Sandoval circles away easily and Sandoval counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. The fighters circle momentarily. Sandoval darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Sandoval throws a nice outside leg kick. Costa takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Costa takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Costa sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Sandoval fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Costa. Sandoval misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Costa steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Sandoval. That one must have hurt. Sandoval scoring well with a low kick there.
Sandoval moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Sandoval scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Costa doesn't seem bothered though. Sandoval lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sandoval cracks Costa with a good jab. Costa tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Sandoval is able to avoid easily. Sandoval moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Sandoval cracks Costa with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Sandoval moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Costa is rocked!
It looks like Carlos Costa has been cut. Sandoval throws a shot to the body.
Costa is still on wobbly legs! Can Sandoval finish him? The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Costa chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sandoval can pounce on him.
Costa seems to have recovered his senses. Costa pivots, looking for a leg kick but Sandoval is out of range and Costa settles back down. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Flavio Sandoval dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Carlos Costa's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Sandoval fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Sandoval stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Costa shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Sandoval is trying to control but can't.
Sandoval keeping hold of Costa's head, controlling as best he can. Sandoval regains full guard. Nicely done. Costa takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Costa is looking to work some ground and pound but Sandoval has wrist control. Sandoval trying to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sandoval is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Costa frees his head nicely. Oh but Sandoval has switched to an armbar! Costa is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
