The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Thomas tries for a takedown but Hughes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hughes clinches up with Thomas and pushes him back against the cage.
Hughes breaks from the clinch.
Hughes shoots in and bounces Thomas off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Hughes connects with a couple of short punches.
