Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gegard Mousasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lou Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Watson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Assassin. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gegard Mousasi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lou Watson! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Watson tries to keep at a distance but Mousasi has taken the fight into the clinch. Watson misses with an elbow over the top. Mousasi scores with a shot to the side of Watson's head.
It looks like Lou Watson has been cut. Mousasi tries for a takedown. No joy.

Mousasi tries to pull guard but Watson won't allow it.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gegard Mousasi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mousasi goes for a takedown in the clinch but Watson prevents it.

Mousasi jumps guard but Watson stands there with Mousasi around his waist. Mousasi gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mousasi will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Watson up against the cage. Mousasi jumps guard but Watson stands there with Mousasi around his waist. Mousasi gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Mousasi successfully pulls guard.
Watson wants to stand but Mousasi is controlling his posture from full guard. Watson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Mousasi looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mousasi is pulling down on Watson's head to control his posture.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Watson throws a right and a left that Mousasi avoids nicely. Mousasi gets a clinch. Mousasi tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Watson misses with a knee strike.
Mousasi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Watson walks away with a smile on his face. Mousasi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Mousasi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Watson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mousasi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Mousasi scores with a couple of short elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Watson parries the strikes from Mousasi easily there. Mousasi is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Watson to escape.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mousasi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mousasi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Sloppy strikes there by Mousasi. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. You can see the frustration on Watson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gegard Mousasi dominated that round. The cut man is working on Lou Watson's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Mousasi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Watson sprawls well initially but Mousasi persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Mousasi controlling the pace. Mousasi missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Mousasi is controlling the pace.
Mousasi seems to be looking for submissions.
Mousasi is trying to control the action in half guard but Watson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Watson scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Mousasi manages to mount him!

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mousasi working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Mousasi lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Watson.
Mousasi punches Watson on the ear. Mousasi working for a choke but Watson is defending well. Watson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Mousasi's guard. Nice work there by Watson.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mousasi controlling the position. Watson is sitting in close to Mousasi's body. Mousasi has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Watson is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Watson is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Mousasi.
