The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sanchez throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sanchez swings for the body but Aspen moves out of range.
Aspen gets the takedown into side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Sanchez is pushing Aspen's head away, looking to escape. Aspen manages to hold on to the position though.
Aspen tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Sanchez avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Aspen.
Sanchez parries the strikes from Aspen easily there. Aspen is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Sanchez to escape.
Aspen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Sanchez is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Sanchez tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Sanchez is trying to remain composed but Aspen is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Aspen thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Well, with Aspen on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Sanchez is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Aspen is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Thiago Sanchez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Sanchez leaves Aspen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sanchez is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Aspen is breathing heavily.
Sanchez drops Aspen with a beautiful combination! Aspen stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Sanchez is looking for the KO!

and Sanchez counters with a huge right that knocks Aspen out cold! Sanchez is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!

Thiago Sanchez got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
