The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

so Layfield counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mark Layfield wasn't active enough on the ground.
Jackson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jackson wants it to stay on the feet.

Jackson gets caught napping as Layfield dives in and scores a takedown. Jackson manages to retain guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mark Layfield was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Layfield looks for a takedown but Jackson sprawls well.
Layfield throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Layfield off to one side.
Peter Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Layfield.

Layfield fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jackson to the ground. Layfield is now in Jackson's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Let's hope that Layfield has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Mark Layfield has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Layfield fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Layfield tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jackson swivels and escapes.
Nice shot lands for Jackson.
Layfield looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jackson is fending him off so far but Layfield persists. Nope, Jackson circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck for Layfield with that takedown attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Layfield shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jackson but Jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jackson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Layfield misses with a takedown attempt - Jackson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mark Layfield is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jackson is pawing at Layfield, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Layfield's nose. Layfield is badly hurt! Jackson pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Layfield tries desperately to hold on but Jackson is relentless in his assault! As Layfield receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Jackson away and this one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Peter Jackson!
