Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Bam Margera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Cook! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cook gets a takedown into half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Cook not landing any meaningful shots this time. Margera looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Cook throwing shots but Margera is blocking nicely. Cook thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Margera's head. Cook wants to advance to full mount but Margera doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Cook slips nicely into half guard. Margera tries to roll over but Cook keeps him under control. Cook throwing shots but Margera is blocking nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cook throwing shots but Margera is blocking nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Margera tries to roll over but Cook keeps him under control. Cook wants to free his trapped foot but Margera is holding on for dear life with his legs. Cook slips a nice elbow through Margera's hands, connecting with Margera's forehead. Cook trying to mount his opponent but Margera defends it. Margera regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Cook. Cook working some strikes from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cook throwing strikes but missing. Cook lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Cook forces his way into half guard. Cook trying to mount his opponent but Margera defends it. Cook is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Margera working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cook doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cook manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cook pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Margera is keeping the position for now. Margera preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cook pushes down on Margera's leg and manages to get into half guard. Cook frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Cook landing shots from mount. Margera tries to get back to half guard but can't. Poor strikes thrown by Cook there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Margera tries to reverse the position but Cook maintains control. BOOM! Cook connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Margera wants to control but Cook is having none of it. Margera sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cook missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Cook throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Cook looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Cook working over Margera with some ground and pound. Margera looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Cook is pressing down on Margera's thigh, looking to free his foot. Margera is holding on for now. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Margera blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cook. Cook missing with the ground and pound from half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Cook dominated that round. That's time! Margera's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Margera scores with a takedown into Cook's guard. Margera won't allow Cook to sweep him here. Margera loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Cook looking for a sweep. Not yet Cook, not yet. Margera looking to pass the guard. Margera is pushing down on Cook's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cook is fighting to maintain full guard but Margera has managed to sneak the leg through. Cook manages to get to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Margera sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Cook defending well though. Cook is not content to let Margera control the position. Margera is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cook is just riding it out for now. Margera eventually gives up the hold. Cook is pressing down on Margera's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Cook is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Margera avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cook.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cook is looking to advance position but Margera won't allow it. Margera moves into full guard.
Cook content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Cook throws a big right hand that misses. Margera is trying to control the position but Cook postures up. Margera avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Margera looking for a guillotine here but Cook defends easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cook looking to pass the guard. Jason Cook has got the better of the ground game so far.

Margera swivels though and keeps the full guard. Margera looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Cook passes into half guard.
Margera has hold of Cook's hands but Cook slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cook trying to pass the guard but Margera defending well. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cook connects with a nice short shot to Margera's temple. Cook with the ground and pound but Margera uses the opportunity to regain guard. Margera had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cook defends it easily. Cook advances to half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Margera keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Margera trying to control here.

Cook throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Margera's waist but Margera gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cook off to one side. Margera feints and as Cook raises his hands in defense, Margera changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Cook utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Cook wants to sweep here but Margera controlling him for the moment. Margera has gone for a leg lock! Cook slips out almost immediately though and dives into Margera's guard. Cook really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Margera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cook pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Margera is keeping the position for now. Cook stands and throws Margera's legs to the side, diving into side control. Cook postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cook advances to full mount. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Cook lands a heavy elbow. Margera wants to control but Cook is having none of it. Cook working away from the top, dropping strikes. Cook working Margera over with strikes here. Cook cracks Margera with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
