Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Malinowsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Berndt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malinowsky comes to the cage accompanied by Pride. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malinowsky tries for a takedown but Berndt circles away easily
and Berndt counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Malinowsky thinking.

and Berndt counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Malinowsky is lucky that one didn't land flush.

and Berndt counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Malinowsky. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Malinowsky is breathing heavily.
Berndt is pressing down on Malinowsky's thigh, looking to free his foot. Malinowsky is holding on for now.
Still in half guard, Berndt seems content to control.

Berndt is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Malinowsky doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Berndt.

Berndt is pushing Malinowsky up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

A left and a right from Berndt both land. Nice combination.
Malinowsky could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Malinowsky takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Berndt's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
