Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Carlo Rafael Cruz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ulysses Kanu! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruz throws a big shot that misses. Cruz misses with a hook
and Kanu moves into the clinch. Kanu stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Kanu using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Cruz has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Cruz tries to break free but Kanu pushes him back against the cage. Kanu misses with a hook from the clinch. Cruz has had enough of the clinch but Kanu keeps him there for the moment. Cruz wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kanu has him pressed against the cage. Kanu missing with knees to the body.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Kanu throws a knee to the head but misses.
With the fighters up against the cage, Kanu throws an elbow but misses. Cruz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Kanu keeps control of Cruz as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Cruz is trying to break the clinch but Kanu has him pressed against the cage. Kanu is looking to control Cruz's arms but Cruz gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kanu has his back to the cage. Cruz tries to break the clinch but Kanu is controlling the position. A frustrated look appears on Cruz's face as he tries to break the clinch. Kanu trying to stall but Cruz improves his position.

Cruz looks to land a right hand but Kanu moved out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz jabbing away but nothing is landing. Kanu moves into the clinch. Cruz is looking to break free of the clinch but Kanu has double underhooks. Cruz has had enough of the clinch but Kanu keeps him there for the moment. Kanu tries to land a knee to the head but Cruz blocks with his arms.
Cruz is trying to break the clinch but Kanu has him pressed against the cage. Kanu trying to land knees to the body.
Kanu is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Cruz is keeping busy. Cruz is trying to break the clinch but Kanu has him pressed against the cage. Cruz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kanu tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Cruz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Cruz connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Ulysses Kanu has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Kanu moves into the clinch successfully.

Kanu gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Cruz tries to circle away but Kanu has him pinned against the cage. Kanu slows down the pace here.

It looks like Carlo Rafael Cruz has been cut. Cruz wants to get back to striking at distance but Kanu won't allow it.
Kanu tries a knee to the head but Cruz blocks it.
Cruz blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Cruz is trying to force a seperation but Kanu has the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cruz working hard to break the clinch. Kanu misses with a knee strike.

Kanu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cruz tries to avoid it but Kanu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cruz to the ground. Cruz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Cruz jabs Kanu right on the nose. Kanu blinks but takes it well. Kanu is looking to clinch but Cruz is avoiding it.
BAM! Cruz delivers a spinning backfist that drops Kanu like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). Carlo Rafael Cruz! Jumping up and down and very excited, Carlo Rafael Cruz waved his t-shirt featuring 1337 ANZAC's logo in front of the cameras.
