Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Lilburne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Sobieski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lilburne kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is You'll never walk alone. The crowd seem to be enjoying Sobieski's choice of entrance music: Kto Cię Obroni Polsko. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Lilburne! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jan Sobieski! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Lilburne. Sobieski does a little dance to reset his feet. Sobieski checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Lilburne throws a wild body kick that Sobieski sees coming a mile off. Sobieski moves out of range of the body kick. Sobieski gets in close and instigates a clinch. Lilburne goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Lilburne lands a left hand that snaps the head of Sobieski backwards. Sobieski on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Lilburne pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Sobieski misses with a wild body shot. Lilburne throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. John Lilburne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lilburne slaps away a takedown attempt from Sobieski, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sobieski clinches. Sobieski tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lilburne smiles and moves away.
Lilburne scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Sobieski with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lilburne to score with a decent uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. A slapping body kick lands there for Lilburne. Lilburne throws a body punch but Sobieski moves out of range. Sobieski slips a jab from Lilburne. Lilburne throws a body kick that misses. Sobieski steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lilburne. A jab from Lilburne misses. Lilburne fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sobieski looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Lilburne misses with an uppercut. Sobieski saw that one coming. Lilburne swings widly with a right hand
and Sobieski counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Sobieski jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lilburne walks away with a smile on his face. Sobieski gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. John Lilburne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Sobieski. Lilburne is looking to land body kicks. Sobieski moves out of range as Lilburne strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sobieski has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lilburne putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Sobieski in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Lilburne lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Sobieski backwards. Sobieski is looking to control Lilburne's arms but Lilburne gets an underhook and turns him. Now Sobieski has his back to the ropes. Sobieski blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sobieski has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lilburne avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Lilburne is trying to break the clinch but Sobieski is controlling him. Sobieski gets a trip takedown into half guard. Sobieski thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Sobieski has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Lilburne is refusing to be controlled, as Sobieski sits in half guard. Lilburne on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lilburne tries to get out of the position. Sobieski not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Sobieski thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Sobieski wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lilburne keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sobieski works his way into side control. Sobieski throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Sobieski tries to score with some ground and pound. Lilburne controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Sloppy strikes there by Sobieski. Sobieski misses with the ground and pound. Sobieski tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Lilburne knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sobieski on the ground. Lilburne managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Sobieski.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sobieski is putting a hurting on Lilburne here, landing some big shots from side control. The ground and pound from Sobieski seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Sobieski wants to control but Lilburne is keeping him busy. Sobieski throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Lilburne regains half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sobieski throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Sobieski missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Sobieski thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lilburne's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Lilburne will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Lilburne is pressed up against the ropes. Sobieski has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lilburne down to the mat. Lilburne avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Sobieski will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. John Lilburne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Sobieski. Lilburne tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sobieski was well out of range. Poor timing from Lilburne. Lilburne throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Sobieski drives through and clinches with Lilburne against the ropes.
Lilburne breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sobieski tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lilburne just stands there and leans against the ropes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lilburne prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's one minute gone in the round. Sobieski manages to break the clinch.
Sobieski shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lilburne napping and manages to drive through into side control! Sobieski working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Sobieski has knee on belly and moves into mount. Lilburne is squirming around, avoiding Sobieski's attempts to control the action. Sobieski scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Lilburne?

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sobieski thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Sobieski looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lilburne is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Sobieski thowing shots but they're missing. Sobieski looking to control but Lilburne is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Sobieski goes for an armbar but Lilburne turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Lilburne.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sobieski seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Sobieski wants to sweep but no luck. Sobieski is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Lilburne holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Sobieski tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Sobieski putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Sobieski lands with some strikes. Lilburne avoids a series of strikes thrown by Sobieski.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sobieski cracks Lilburne with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lilburne blocking the ground and pound. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sobieski postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Lilburne in real trouble here! The ref calls for Lilburne to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jan Sobieski! Jan Sobieski retains his light heavyweight title! Jan Sobieski took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'John Lilburne is really tough guy, he won this title 7 times, he try to beat me one more time but I must say sorry... it's my time!!! Thanks for all fans!!!'.
