PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Katsu Saito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Saito decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Hunter shoots in looking for a takedown but Saito manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hunter's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Saito has hold of Hunter's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hunter manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Saito is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hunter has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Saito is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hunter is surviving well by controlling Saito's body position as best he can.

Hunter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Saito. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Saito postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hunter is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Saito, into his guard.

Saito wants to get back to his feet but Hunter is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Saito working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hunter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hunter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Saito is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hunter can do to turn this around?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Saito has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hunter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Saito, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
