Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gunner Rage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Still (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Still comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Laveerre - Kaasupää kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gunner Rage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Matt Still!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Still fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rage manages to avoid it.
Still takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Rage throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rage swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Still counter with a right hand.
Rage waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Still.
Rage changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Rage throws a nice looking combination but Still bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sloppy strikes from Rage. Those never looked like landing.
Rage shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Rage misses with a lunging right hand
and Still counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Rage fails to land with a series of punches.
Rage throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Rage fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Still looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Rage drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Rage ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Still looks gassed!
Rage takes a swing at Still's ribcage but misses.
Rage throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rage tests Still's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Rage throws a nice looking combination but Still bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Still wants to clinch.
Gunner Rage is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rage closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Matt Still has been cut.

Rage feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Still sprawling to the canvas! Still rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Rage finish him?!

Still dodges the punch combination from Rage.
Rage throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Still slips a jab and a cross from Rage.
Still lands with a nice body punch.
Still scores with a jab to the body.
Rage throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Still sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Rage throws a series of punches but Still avoids them all with ease.
No joy there for Rage, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rage swings for the body but Still moves out of range.

Rage throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Rage loads up on a big right hand but Still slips the punch.
Rage throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rage throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Still sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Still walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Rage dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rage throws a hook but Still avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gunner Rage dominated that round.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Still counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Gunner Rage is winning the standup battle so far.
Rage ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Still showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rage.
Gunner Rage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rage throws a right and a left that both miss.
Still is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Rage rather than just go for the knockout.
Rage rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Still moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rage scores with a nice head shot.
Rage takes a swing at Still's ribcage but misses.
Rage really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rage misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Still walks into a left hand.
Rage misses with a straight right.
Rage throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Still tries to close the distance and clinch but Rage swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rage is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Still can do to turn this around?
Rage misses with the combination.

Still throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rage was covering up waiting for the punch and Still finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Still showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Still thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Still postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Still slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Rage avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Still stays in close to Rage's body and controls the position.
Still throwing strikes from guard but Rage blocks nicely.
Still wants to control from the top but Rage keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Matt Still hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Still keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Still doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Rage with a jab.
Rage misses with an uppercut. Still saw that one coming.
Rage ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Still moves away.
Still misses the shot to the body.
Rage digs a good hook to Still's body.
Rage misses with the combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A looping hook to the body misses from Rage. Still does a little dance to reset his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rage tries to bum rush Still with a series of wild strikes but Still uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

That was a close second round but I would say that Gunner Rage will probably get the nod.

Rage moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Rage lands a left and a right that send Still crashing to the mat, dazed. Rage thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Rage moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Still seems to have recovered his senses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

and Rage takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Gunner Rage is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rage throws a lazy uppercut
letting Still counter with a right hand.
Rage doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Rage will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rage looks to land a combination but Still avoids it well.
Still keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rage.
Still fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rage manages to avoid it.

Still fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Rage has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Still is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rage has escaped the position, nice work there.
Still looks up at the clock and then as Rage takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Still smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Matt Still has got the better of the ground game so far.

The strikes coming from Still are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Rage parries the strikes from Still easily there. Still is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rage to escape.

Rage knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Still on the ground.

Still is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Still connects with a nice short shot to Rage's temple.
Rage avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Still.

Rage looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
Still scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Still trying to control from half guard but Rage is working away.
Still takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Still moves nicely into side control.
Still in side control lands a decent elbow.

Oh Rage is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rage on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rage tries to get out of the position.
Still in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Still has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Rage is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Still yanks on the arm and Rage is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Still.
