Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Forres Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sanitha Muralitharan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Forres Griffin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Forres Griffin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sanitha Muralitharan! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Muralitharan shoots for a takedown but Griffin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Griffin fails to land with a series of punches.
Muralitharan is looking to clinch but Griffin is avoiding it.
Griffin throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Muralitharan lands a really nice looking cross but Griffin seems unphased.
Griffin has managed to clinch.
Griffin manages to break the clinch.
No joy there for Muralitharan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Muralitharan misses with a few strikes there.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Griffin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Muralitharan is looking to get to half guard. Griffin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Muralitharan on the ground. Muralitharan is squirming around, avoiding Griffin's attempts to control the action. Muralitharan is trying desperately to improve position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin trying to control but Muralitharan is having none of it. Griffin with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. That's three minutes gone in the round. Muralitharan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Griffin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Muralitharan. Muralitharan wants to work for an arm triangle but Griffin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Griffin is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet. Griffin avoids the head kick by Muralitharan.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Griffin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Griffin is standing up, even though he is in mount. Sanitha Muralitharan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Griffin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Muralitharan manages to get to full guard.

A close round but Sanitha Muralitharan will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Muralitharan tries for a takedown but Griffin circles away easily and Griffin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Griffin pulls guard. Griffin is trying to control the position but Muralitharan postures up. Griffin has Muralitharan pulled in close to control his posture. Griffin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Griffin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Griffin controlling the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Muralitharan tries to free his leg and advance position but Griffin is retaining full guard. Muralitharan won't allow Griffin to get back to his feet. Muralitharan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Muralitharan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Muralitharan with a lazy takedown attempt and Griffin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Griffin. Griffin wants a takedown.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Muralitharan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Forres Griffin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sanitha Muralitharan.

Griffin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Muralitharan gets caught flat footed, as Griffin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Griffin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Muralitharan is looking for a sweep. Griffin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Griffin lands with a punch from half guard. Griffin is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Muralitharan Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Griffin's back instead. Muralitharan looking for the RNC. Griffin trying to control the action but Muralitharan just sinks the hooks in. A lull in the action here.

He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Muralitharan is trying to control the position but Griffin postures up. Muralitharan isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Griffin stacks Muralitharan on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Griffin! The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Griffin moves into full mount! Muralitharan is in all sorts of trouble here.

Muralitharan connects with a crisp jab. Griffin shoots in for a takedown but Muralitharan shows good takedown defense. A jab-cross combination lands for Muralitharan and sends Griffin crashing to the mat! Muralitharan follows him down to the mat - Griffin regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

It looks like Forres Griffin has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Muralitharan seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Griffin is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
