The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paxio shoots in looking for a takedown. Rua tries to sprawl out of it but Paxio keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Rua manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Paxio clinches up with Rua and pushes him back against the ropes.
Paxio gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Rua is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Paxio pulls his head out easily.
Paxio works his way into full mount!
Paxio is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rua to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rua shrugs it off.
Paxio is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Rua is surviving well by controlling Paxio's body position as best he can.
Rua is in all sorts of trouble here.
Paxio jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rua manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Rua sneaks back into half guard.

Paxio is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rua has managed to free his arm - good work.

Paxio wants to pass the guard but Rua is defending well.
Rua looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Rua is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Paxio pulls his head out easily.
Paxio is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Paxio is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rua defends it well.
Paxio wants to free his trapped foot but Rua is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
