Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Rodrigues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Daddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daddy doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rodrigues connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Rodrigues shoots in looking for a takedown but Daddy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rodrigues's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Rodrigues shoots in and drives through. Daddy sprawls well.
Daddy throws a right and a left that Rodrigues avoids nicely.
Daddy doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rodrigues counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Ricardo Rodrigues has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Big Daddy.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rodrigues enables Daddy to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rodrigues manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Daddy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Daddy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rodrigues throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rodrigues shoots in for a takedown but Daddy shows good takedown defense.
Rodrigues will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rodrigues knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Daddy on the ground.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rodrigues tries to clinch but Daddy is having none of it.
Big Daddy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Daddy has his takedown stuffed
and Rodrigues counters with a three punch combo that has Daddy backing up. Daddy nods at Rodrigues to acknowledge the strikes.

Daddy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rodrigues did well to prevent Daddy getting side control.

Rodrigues is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Daddy has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Daddy lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Rodrigues hang on?
Daddy lands a heavy elbow.

Daddy unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Rodrigues wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Daddy celebrates on the ropes and the crowd goes wild!
