0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, William Peterson ! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Northwood looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Northwood wants to free his trapped foot but Peterson is holding on for dear life with his legs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Northwood is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Peterson has managed to free his arm - good work. Northwood thows a huge punch but Peterson dodges it nicely.
Peterson pushes Northwood off looking to stand but Northwood dives back in and keeps control.
Northwood trying to mount his opponent but Peterson defends it. Northwood is looking for a kimura but Peterson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Northwood to get the leverage.

Northwood moves out of range as Peterson strikes. Peterson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Northwood drives through with a takedown into Peterson 's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Northwood postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Northwood trying to control but Peterson is working from the bottom. Northwood controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Northwood stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peterson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Peterson looks gassed! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Northwood is trying to control. Peterson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Northwood looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Nice uppercut there from Peterson . Northwood shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Peterson as he jumps to the side. Northwood is trying hard to land a takedown here. Peterson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Northwood tries to score a power double leg takedown but Peterson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Northwood somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eric Northwood. That's going to take a lot out of him. Peterson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Northwood takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Peterson misses with an uppercut. Northwood saw that one coming. Peterson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Peterson wants it to stay on the feet. Northwood gets a takedown into half guard. Northwood is looking for a kimura here.
Peterson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Peterson is looking to escape.

Peterson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Northwood. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Northwood sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Peterson defending well though. Northwood throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Northwood has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Peterson 's face.

Northwood feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Peterson is rocked! Northwood looking to sit in guard and control but Peterson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Peterson is still in real trouble! Can Northwood finish him? Northwood working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Peterson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Northwood is tightening it up a little... Peterson has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Peterson reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Peterson taps out! Nice BJJ there by Northwood!
