Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Drapeau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamie Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Henderson has chosen Can't Tell Me Nothing as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Drapeau! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jamie Henderson! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drapeau misses with a few strikes there.
Drapeau closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Henderson quickly recovers to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Drapeau slows the pace down in half guard. Henderson is trying to control but can't.
Drapeau stalling.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Daniel Drapeau. Drapeau tries to bum rush Henderson with a series of wild strikes but Henderson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's one minute gone in the round. A bone on bone clash there as Drapeau blocks the leg kick.
A punch combination from Henderson misses. Drapeau shoots in but no luck this time. Drapeau on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Drapeau connects with a single shot there. Drapeau clinches up against the cage. Drapeau lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Jamie Henderson has been cut. Drapeau breaks the clinch.
Drapeau changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Henderson tries to avoid it but Drapeau manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Henderson to the ground. Henderson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Drapeau shoots in but Henderson avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Drapeau. That's going to take a lot out of him. Drapeau closes the distance and clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Drapeau lands an elbow just above Henderson 's eye. Drapeau lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Drapeau drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Henderson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Drapeau displaying some good clinch control by pressing Henderson up against the cage. Drapeau working some nice short punches in the clinch. Drapeau has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Henderson regains guard immediately.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Drapeau landing with the ground and pound. Drapeau controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Drapeau seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Henderson for as long as he can get away with. Henderson wants to stand and escape but Drapeau is having none of it. Drapeau engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Henderson wants to get back to his feet but Drapeau is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

We're going to have a standup here because Daniel Drapeau wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Drapeau closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Drapeau manages to break the clinch.

Henderson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Drapeau to score an easy takedown into full guard. Drapeau is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Drapeau postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Drapeau stays in close to Henderson's body and controls the position. Drapeau cracks Henderson with a solid left hand. Drapeau is stalling in the full guard. Drapeau is in close to Henderson's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drapeau is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Drapeau postures up and lands a big shot to Henderson's brow. Drapeau controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Drapeau stops Henderson from standing up. Henderson is breathing heavily.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Daniel Drapeau just wasn't active enough. Drapeau throws a combination that misses and Henderson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Henderson gets caught flat footed, as Drapeau shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Drapeau throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Drapeau looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Drapeau has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Daniel Drapeau has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Drapeau fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Henderson, pushing him back against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Drapeau lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Drapeau landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Drapeau takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Henderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Drapeau. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Drapeau seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Drapeau is trying for a kimura here. Henderson looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Drapeau wins by kimura!
