Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Takashi Matsui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beugina Unki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takashi Matsui!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Beugina Unki!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matsui looking to score a takedown here. Unki is defending well but Matsui drives through and ends up in Unki's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Matsui tries to free his leg and advance position but Unki is retaining full guard.

Matsui manages to reverse the position and now he's in Unki's guard. Nice work there by Matsui.
Unki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Matsui. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Unki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Matsui can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Unki controls Matsui momentarily but Matsui frees himself.

Unki has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Unki feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Takashi Matsui overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Matsui escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Unki gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Unki throws a strike but Matsui rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Unki can do anything to dispel that myth.
Matsui stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Unki swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Matsui drops back looking for a leg! Unki is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Unki manages to kick Matsui off! Matsui jumps back into Unki's guard.
Matsui stands and throws Unki's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Matsui wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Unki, who protects the arm well.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close second round but I would say that Takashi Matsui will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Matsui is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Unki accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Unki throws a sloppy strike and Matsui has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Unki is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Matsui!
