Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Nick Cage!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Miyamoto Musashi!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Musashi lands a glancing blow to the side of Cage's head.
Musashi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Musashi throws a one two combo.
Miyamoto Musashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cage is looking to clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cage is defended easily by Musashi.
Musashi falls off balance throwing a combination

and Cage counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cage advances to half guard.

Cage is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Musashi is just riding it out for now. Cage eventually gives up the hold.
Musashi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Cage works his way into full mount!
Cage scores with a couple of good head shots there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Musashi can do anything to dispel that myth.

Musashi defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Cage.
Musashi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cage. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cage scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Musashi?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Musashi keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Musashi takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Cage wants to finish this one by submission but Musashi is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Cage.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cage cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Cage has control of Musashi's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Musashi regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Musashi tries to improve his position but Cage has taken his back! Cage has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Musashi tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Cage pushes Musashi away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nick Cage!
Nick Cage retains his middleweight title!
