The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Mahmoudi scores a takedown into full mount!
Thomas tries to hold on but Mahmoudi pushes him away.
Mahmoudi tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Mahmoudi lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
It looks like Doug Thomas has been cut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
