Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dr Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Benevidi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Benevidi did well to prevent Jones getting side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Jones working over Benevidi with some ground and pound. Benevidi looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jones connects with a nice short shot to Benevidi's temple.
Jones throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Benevidi is trying is best to control the position here.
Benevidi manages to get to full guard.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Benevidi is looking to sinch up a triangle. Jones throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Benevidi's body to avoid the submission. Benevidi has instead reached around Jones's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Benevidi arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
