Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mr Ripley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Rampaasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ripley comes to the cage accompanied by The Talented Mr. Ripley - Tu Vuo' Fa l'Americano . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mr Ripley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Quinton Rampaasi! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rampaasi shoots in looking for a takedown. Ripley tries to sprawl out of it but Rampaasi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ripley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Mr Ripley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ripley fails with the takedown. Rampaasi shoots in but Ripley avoids the takedown attempt easily. Rampaasi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Ripley avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rampaasi. Rampaasi missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ripley is looking to improve his position.
Ripley pushes Rampaasi off looking to stand but Rampaasi dives back in and keeps control.
Ripley is trying to get back to full guard. Rampaasi slips a nice elbow through Ripley's hands, connecting with Ripley's forehead. Rampaasi missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Ripley is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rampaasi pulls his head out easily. Rampaasi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ripley's head. Ripley moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Rampaasi is looking to work some ground and pound but Ripley has wrist control. Rampaasi is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Rampaasi throws and elbow that misses. Ripley uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rampaasi's guard. Nice move by Ripley! Rampaasi kicks Ripley off and gets to his feet. Ripley motions for Rampaasi to come forward. Ripley throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Ripley scores with a nice right hand.

No luck for Rampaasi with that takedown attempt. Mr Ripley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quinton Rampaasi. Ripley scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ripley tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rampaasi swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ripley misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rampaasi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ripley's waist but Ripley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rampaasi off to one side. Danga de danga de dang - Ripley scores with a four punch combination! Ripley fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rampaasi manages to avoid it. Ripley lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rampaasi circles away quickly and effectively. Horrible takedown by Rampaasi or perhaps it was just good defense by Ripley which made him look bad. Rampaasi shoots in for a double leg but Ripley sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Ripley with a poor takedown and Rampaasi counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ripley thinking. Rampaasi shoots in looking for a takedown. Ripley tries to sprawl out of it but Rampaasi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. A punch combination from Ripley misses. Ripley misses with the combination.
Rampaasi shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ripley napping and manages to drive through into side control! Rampaasi working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rampaasi connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Ripley some visible discomfort.
Ripley is trying to get back to half guard. Rampaasi is putting a hurting on Ripley here, landing some big shots from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ripley is positioning himself to get back to half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Ripley is working to avoid the ground and pound but Rampaasi connects with a decent elbow. Rampaasi cracks Ripley with a big right hand but Ripley just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Rampaasi scores with punches from side control. Rampaasi throwing strikes but Ripley manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Rampaasi tries to buck Ripley off but Ripley is having none of it. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rampaasi bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Ripley tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rampaasi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ripley somewhat. Ripley moves out of range of the strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight stays on the outside here - Ripley looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ripley does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Rampaasi gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Ripley pulls guard. Rampaasi stands up over Ripley, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Rampaasi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ripley works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ripley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rampaasi keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ripley's head. Rampaasi postures up in Ripley's guard and throws a big left but Ripley blocks it. Ripley utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Rampaasi thows a big elbow that misses.

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ripley looking to pass the guard. Rampaasi wants to stand and escape but Ripley is having none of it. Ripley pushes down on Rampaasi's leg and manages to get into half guard. Rampaasi has one foot on Ripley's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Rampaasi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ripley defends it nicely. Rampaasi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ripley as he avoids it easily. Mr Ripley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quinton Rampaasi. Quinton Rampaasi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rampaasi wants to stand up but Ripley is controlling him. Rampaasi is looking for a triangle but Ripley pushes his legs off easily.

He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Rampaasi wants to stand but Ripley is controlling the position. Rampaasi scrambles and gets back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rampaasi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Ripley throws a right and a left that Rampaasi avoids nicely. Rampaasi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rampaasi wants it to stay on the feet. Ripley stuffs the takedown. Rampaasi shoots in looking for a takedown but Ripley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rampaasi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Ripley feints a jab promting Rampaasi to slip. Ripley then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Rampaasi slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ripley misses with a takedown attempt - Rampaasi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Horrible takedown by Rampaasi or perhaps it was just good defense by Ripley which made him look bad. Mr Ripley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Quinton Rampaasi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Ripley shoots in but Rampaasi avoids the takedown attempt easily.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mr Ripley. I think Rampaasi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
