Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Henri Dresic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franky Edkar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Henri Dresic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Franky Edkar!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edkar blocks a leg kick.

Edkar scores a takedown into full mount!
Edkar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
It looks like Edkar might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Franky Edkar has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Edkar takes a jab right on the kisser.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dresic lands a jab to the head.
Dresic fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Edkar checks it well.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Dresic. Edkar shrugs it off though.
Dresic lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Franky Edkar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dresic takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Dresic throws a push kick but Edkar slaps the foot to one side.

Edkar feints and as Dresic raises his hands in defense, Edkar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Let's hope that Edkar has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Franky Edkar hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Dresic moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Edkar looks for a takedown but Dresic sprawls well.

Edkar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Edkar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dresic really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Dresic wants to hold on but Edkar pushes him away.
Edkar content just to control the position here.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dresic sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Dresic wants to get back to full guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Franky Edkar wasn't active enough on the ground.
Dresic connects with a leg kick. Edkar looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Edkar shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Henri Dresic is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A jab from Dresic does it's job there.
Edkar dives in and grabs Dresic's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dresic pushes down on Edkar's head and hops out.

Edkar drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Edkar wants to pass the guard but Dresic is keeping the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Franky Edkar hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Dresic throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Edkar shoots in but Dresic avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Franky Edkar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Dresic lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Edkar has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dresic finds it's way round the side to connect with Edkar's head.
Edkar has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Dresic throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Dresic lands a lovely overhand right.
Dresic takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Edkar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Edkar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Henri Dresic has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
