12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nataniel Byczynski! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcia shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Byczynski defends it nicely. Garcia closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Garcia lands in his opponent's guard. Garcia loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Garcia wants to pass the guard but Byczynski is keeping the position. Garcia might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Byczynski wants to sweep but no luck. Garcia sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Byczynski's guard. Garcia is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Garcia has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Garcia looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's one minute gone in the round. Byczynski is looking to escape. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Garcia in particular looking to stall. Garcia is working for a submission of some sort.
